Discover the icy cool world of tea popsicles and it will transform your summer. Guaranteed! Tea popsicles are surprisingly easy to make, and everyone in the family will love them – especially since we have fabulous recipes for kid-friendly popsicles, as well as ones spiked with some alcohol that adults will adore.
When popsicles are home-made with our fresh, high quality, organic tea they can be rich in antioxidants and nutrients that are good for you. What they don’t contain are the things you don’t want – excess calories, sugar, gluten, artificial flavours, dyes and all the stuff you should avoid!
Here’s one of our favourite tea popsicle recipes – it’s a gorgeous pink colour and the taste is divine. We call her “Earl Pink”. She’s made with our Earl Green Tea, which is a twist on Imperial Earl Grey Tea, because it’s made with green tea leaves instead of black tea leaves.
EARL PINK TEA POPSICLE RECIPE
2 tbsp Earl Green (other teas that work well in this recipe include: Berry Victoria, Sublime, Sour Cherry & Philosopher’s Brew)
2 cups water, 1 cup grapefruit juice, 1 cup cranberry juice, none or up to 3 tbsp sugar or other sweetener (you don’t need to add any sugar, or you can adjust this amount depending on how sweet or tart you’d like it – more sugar changes the texture so it becomes sorbet-like, no sugar and the texture is more icy)
Brew 2 tbsp of Earl Green Tea in 2 cups of water just before the boil. Steep for 3 min.
Strain tea into a heatproof jug & stir in sugar (if you are using any). Then refrigerate until cold.
Add 1 cup grapefruit juice & 1 cup cranberry juice to cold tea. Then pour into a popsicle mold & freeze.
