BAI MU DAN
Originally made by & for monks to sip, while seeking enlightenment & wisdom, this rustic style version of “white peony” tea from Fujian Province is a rare delight. Captivating fruity & oral notes & mysteriously soft yet full flavour with more depth than other white teas. Varying leaf sizes & twigs are gathered before dawn, slightly rolled & oxidized, then dried at a very low temp. Believed to have potent healthful properties that invigorate & restore youthful vitality. Reminiscent of Darjeeling tea, but without any tannins or astringent notes.
Our Special Reserve Tea Collection celebrates the art of tea craftsmanship, supports biodiversity, the environment and small scale tea farmers. These are teas are also extraordinarily rich in antioxidants and beneficial properties due to unique growing conditions, the wild and heritage tea varietals that are used, as well as traditional production methods. Requiring great skill to produce, many of the teas in this collection can take a Tea Maker over 10 years to learn and by purchasing these teas you’re helping keep these traditions and unique tea varietals alive and thriving.
SILK ROAD teas are made with premium quality, fresh, organic botanicals. Exceptional freshness, combined with organic growing practices, results in higher antioxidant levels & superior flavour.
