anji bai cha
Shrouded in mystery, this rare tea has been praised by Emperors. Drinking a cup is like stepping into spring – an incredibly fresh, naturally sweet & compelling aroma greets you. Associated with improved mental focus, enhanced creativity & calm.
For 900 years this tea disappeared, until 40 years ago when the original tea bush was found, much to the delight of tea lovers. It has taken decades to slowly grow more tea bushes until enough has become available to produce small batches. The leaves are described as being an enticing pale jade colour.
The phoenix is a harbinger of prosperity, happiness & peace, according to ancient myths. It is said her eyes are the sun, her back is the moon, her wings are the wind, her head is the sky, her talons are the earth & her tail the planets.

Our Special Reserve Tea Collection celebrates the art of tea craftsmanship, supports biodiversity, the environment and small scale tea farmers. Requiring great skill to produce, many of the teas in this collection can take a Tea Maker over 10 years to learn and by purchasing these teas you’re helping keep these traditions and unique tea varietals alive and thriving.
Exposure to light, heat and air causes flavour loss as well as the nutrient value of tea to decline, so be sure to store this tea in the package it came in. Always reseal tightly after opening.
To maximize the taste & aroma experience of this exquisite tea:
> brew & serve it Chinese Tea Ceremony style in a light to medium weight porcelain teapot & cups
> sip from a thin, curved lip teacup or gaiwan (lidded teacup)
