Chai Tea Soda Pop

Bombay Chai Sparkler-100842705-lg

Make your own spicy, soda pop with SILK ROAD CHAI or HERBAL CHAI tea for a low-calorie, refreshing drink that is popular with the whole family. Start by making Tea Flavoured Syrup, then add soda or sparkling mineral water.

Home-made Tea Soda Pop tastes better than store-bought soda pop and it’s better for you – it’s low in sugar and calories, and free of preservatives.  When it’s made with SILK ROAD TEA, it’s also organic and free of any artificial flavours too!

Chai Tea Flavoured Syrup

  • 4 tbsp. SILK ROAD CHAI tea or HERBAL CHAI tea
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar (white, brown, raw) OR 2 cups honey, maple syrup or agave nectar

Steep tea in boiling water: 5 mins for SILK ROAD CHAI or 10 mins for HERBAL CHAI. Strain into a saucepan. Add sugar (honey, maple syrup or agave nectar) to saucepan & stir over medium heat until completely dissolved and the liquid is clear. Caution: do not overheat sugar or sweeteners, or leave them unattended as they can burn or bubble over.

Pour syrup into stainless steel or heatproof container to cool, then place in refrigerator, or a cold water/ice bath. Store in fridge.  A batch will last about a week, which enables you to to make Chai Tea Soda Pop anytime!

  • 1 cup soda water or sparkling water
  • ice
  • thinly sliced lemons & limes
