These tea-licious drinks were featured at our recent Holiday Cheer Tea Cocktails & Mocktails Class:
Aloha! This tropical iced mocktail makes you feel like you’ve just landed in Hawaii, so if you are craving an escape this winter, make a pitcher! This laid-back refresher incorporates the exotic taste of guava juice, combined with the slightly tart, quenching taste of hibiscus and rosehips, in our Alchemist’s Brew tea.
To 3 parts iced Alchemist’s Brew tea, add 1 part Guava juice. Stir to combine, and serve over plenty of ice. Guava juice can be found in Victoria’s Chinatown – many of the small grocers carry it. If you’re not in Victoria, try an Asian import store.
Optional: to every 8oz serving of this drink, add 1 – 2oz tequila, white rum or vodka.
SEASONAL SAKE COOLER
A very sippable, low-alcohol cooler that combines sake with mango and orange juice. The flavour combination is light and zesty, making it a great accompaniment to seafood as well as any Asian meals or tapas.
A pre-mixed orange and mango juice combination can often be found in Asian stores, so they can found in Victoria’s Chinatown as well. If you can’t find a pre-mixed orange and mango juice, then simply buy the two juices separately, then mix equal parts mango juice and orange juice together on your own.
To 3 parts iced Earl Green tea, add 1 part Mango/Orange juice. For every 8oz serving of this drink, add 3 oz sake.
SNOW APPLE SPICE TODDY
A Hot Toddy is a wonderfully warming winter drink. Our twist on this classic uses Snow Apple Spice tea, with brandy. The mouth-watering taste of vanilla, apples, ginger and cinnamon found in Snow Apple Spice tea make for a hearty, comforting cup of tea. Like dessert in a teacup!
Brew a cup of Snow Apple Spice tea, then add 1-2 oz brandy. Optional: add a dollop of honey. Stir. Relax…. Ahhhh…
