Moon Festival Tea Flight Sat Sept 30 from 2-3 pm
Every autumn, when the moon is at its brightest and most beautiful point, celebrations take place throughout Asia. The festival originated in ancient times in China, and is also known as the Lantern or Mid-Autumn Festival. Celebrating the moon is an ancient tradition in China – palaces and classical gardens almost always also contain a “Moon Viewing Pavilion”.
A unique method of preparation was devised for brewing tea under the influence of the moon, and special teas are served. During this session you’ll enjoy a flight of 3 rare Chinese teas in celebration of the festival, brewed using these techniques, along with an exclusive Mooncake Macaron! This session takes place at our Chinatown shop, in our private Courtyard Pavilion room – a historic and tranquil oasis which overlooks an interior courtyard in Chinatown. Please note that this room is not wheelchair accessible.
Special offer $12 per person for VIP members or $20 per person. Not yet a VIP? It’s free to join. Sign-up in-store & get access to special offers, prize draws & more.
