MATCHA GREEN TEA
Our Heritage style Matcha is shade-grown & stone-ground.
Traditional Bowl Method: Place 1-2 tsp Matcha in a bowl. Pour aprox 60 ml or 2 oz hot water (use water just before boiling) over Matcha. Using a bamboo whisk, rapidly whisk until frothy. Sip directly from bowl. For a finer froth, pre-sift Matcha immediately before placing in bowl.
Latte Method: Place 1-2 tsp Matcha into a bowl. Pour 60 ml or 2 oz hot water (use water just before boiling) over the Matcha. Using a bamboo whisk, rapidly whisk until frothy. Separately heat dairy or non-dairy milk. Froth. Pour Matcha over milk. Stir.
*Please note that while enjoying a Matcha latte is tasty, milk binds with the tea’s antioxidants so it prevents you from absorbing many of its benefits. For health benefits, it’s best to enjoy it plain.
Store away from light, heat & keep tightly sealed to maintain freshness. Consume within a few months for maximum benefits.
CAFFEINE & MATCHA
Although Matcha is a green tea, which is normally lower in caffeine, it is highly concentrated because it is powdered. You’re getting many more cups of green tea in even a small serving, which means the caffeine content is much higher than other green teas. The caffeine level is similar to coffee, depending on how strong you make it. However, the caffeine in tea affects you differently than the caffeine in coffee, so you may not notice the after-effects as much.
