Oolong & Pu-erh
Semi-green teas & oolongs are considered to be half way between a green tea & a black tea. The result is a beverage with a noticeably stronger flavour than green tea, but still smoother & somewhat milder than black tea.The colour is much darker than green tea, but is more reddish than the coppery colour that is associated with black teas.The caffeine content increases as well to be about half way between a green & a black tea.
Semi-greens & oolongs are known for their ability to aid the metabolism, & they may lower cholesterol, too. In China, semi-green teas are traditionally known as “slimming teas.” They are considered excellent for assisting digestion, especially when one is eating fatty foods.
