Heavenly Tea Hot Chocolate Recipes

This couldn’t be simpler or more delicious—instead of using water to make hot chocolate, use brewed tea. The result is a better tasting, more decadent hot chocolate that is also healthier - with less sugar, fat & calories. Adding tea to your hot chocolate is the best of all worlds!
The tea provides a rich flavour & complexity which allows you to use less hot chocolate powder or cocoa than usual. Better still, even with less hot chocolate powder or cocoa per cup, you actually get a more gourmet taste. Tea can also be a nutrient dense source of antioxidants & minerals & can have a calming & mood boosting effect. The reason we sometimes crave chocolate is because it can also have an uplifting effect on moods. You can make your hot chocolate even more nutritious by using high quality, organic cocoa powder for the hot cocoa part of the recipe - you’ll get added antioxidants from the chocolate.
Tea Hot Chocolates are wonderful alternatives to dessert, a satisfying after dinner drink (instead of dessert), or a cosy drink anytime you want a pick-me-up. Try one of these tea hot chocolates the next time you’re craving a treat – you’ll find it can satisfy your sweet tooth with far fewer calories than most treats.
Make your first one using the recommended proportions of tea to hot chocolate or cocoa & then adjust according to your preference.
Dissolve 1 tablespoon hot chocolate powder in a cup of brewed tea. Or mix brewed tea with equal parts hot cocoa. For an adult version, add 1-2 oz bourbon, vodka, whiskey, tequila, rum or your favourite spirit.
