Spa Etiquette & Policies
CHECK-IN TIME Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled service start time to check in, arrange payment, & so that you can begin to unwind before your service begins. Please note that arriving late will shorten your service time. Services end at their scheduled time, in consideration of all clients.
WHAT TO WEAR Wear loose fitting clothing, or bring a change of comfy clothes that you can change into. During BLOSSOMING LOTUS, DOUBLE HARMONY & SUNMOON SANCTUARY you are fully clothed.
SERVICE DURATION Listed service times are approximate & include consultation with your practitioner, as well as treatment time. The booking time also allows for the amount of time it takes to get into the spa bed & get up afterwards.
PRE-PAYMENT AT BOOKING Full payment for the service is required at the time of booking. When you click the link to book a date/time for a service, you are automatically prompted to pay for the service.
We are not able to be flexible about pre-payment at the time of booking, and have adopted this approach as a result of too many last minute cancellations with little to no notice. When pre-booking spa appointments, the room, equipment and Spa Practitioner's time are reserved for you. When adequate notice is not provided, it leaves us unable to fill spots with other clients, but burdens us with the expenses of the Spa Practitioner's wages and equipment costs, and causes lost potential revenue, so we take a double hit of lost income as well as paying out of pocket for the costs of the service. Due to challenging economic times, we cannot afford to do this, and appreciate your understanding and support.
If you have a SILK ROAD GIFT CARD, you may be able to use it to pre-pay for the service online, at the time of booking. See below for more details.
BOOKING CONFIRMATION If you did not receive a booking confirmation email immediately after completing the online booking, please contact silkroad@silkroadtea.com.
NEED TO CANCEL OR RE-SCHEDULE? As much notice as possible is appreciated, as it increases the likelihood we can fill the spot with another booking. You can cancel your appointment via the cancellation link at the bottom of the booking confirmation email. When less than 24 hours notice is provided to cancel or re-schedule a service, the full amount of the service will be charged. You will not receive a refund.
UNDER THE WEATHER? If you're starting to feel like you're coming down with something, re-schedule your service for another time so you can fully enjoy it.
FACE MASKS are optional at this time. If you would like your practitioner to wear a face mask during your treatment, we are happy to do so. Just let us know. If you are experiencing allergies, a cough or any respiratory symptoms, you may be asked to put on a mask. Depending on the severity of the symptoms, your practitioner may elect to not continue with the service.
AGE LIMIT Spa clients must be a minimum of 16 years of age, even if accompanied by a guardian. We cannot accommodate infants or children in the room during your spa service & we do not offer babysitting/child minding services.
SILENCE ENCOURAGES SERENITY Cell phones & electronic devices must be turned to silent mode during the service. Our practitioners are friendly, but you'll find that we're not talkative during the service, other than to check in with you as needed. This encourages you to relax more deeply. Conversations & talking activate the mind & stimulate alertness, which counteracts the meditative, tranquil state that will help you relax.
FACILITY We do not have showers on the premises. We do not provide snacks or offer meals onsite, & are not able to accommodate food in the spa.
YOUR PRACTITIONER'S GENDER If you are more comfortable with a practitioner of a specific gender, be sure to select your preferred practitioner at the time of booking. Their gender is identified in their bio here.
TIPPING Gratuities are not included in the price of services. If you enjoyed your service, a gratuity of 15%-30% is standard.
Prices are subject to change without notice.
USING A GIFT CARD? If the gift card has a QR code, it will also contain a 16-digit code. This type of gift card can be used for online purchases, so you can use it for pre-payment at the time of booking. Enter the 16-digit code into the payment field at checkout.
If the gift card does not have a QR code, you will need to pre-pay online at the time of booking, using a credit card. When you come in for your appointment, bring the SILK ROAD GIFT CARD with you. Provide it to us when you are checking in for the appointment. The value of the SILK ROAD GIFT CARD will be verified at that time and applied to the value of the service, and the pre-payment will be refunded.
If you forget to bring the gift card with you to the appointment, we cannot issue a refund, but you can use the gift card for any purchases of products in-store that day, or use it towards another service in the future. For more information about redeeming gift cards, click here.
WANTING TO PURCHASE A SPA SERVICE AS A GIFT? In order to treat someone to a spa service, you’ll need to give them a Gift Card that they will use at the time they come in for their service. Click here to purchase an online Gift Card. Please note that we are unable to accept credit card payments over the phone or by email.
CONSULTATION WITH THE PRACTITIONER Every service involves a short consultation with your practitioner. Let your practitioner know what your expectations are and whether you have any concerns regarding the products or service. Your practitioner will check in with you periodically throughout the service to make sure that you are comfortable. We encourage you to relax & enjoy the quiet, peaceful tranquility of the spa.
ALLERGIES, PREGNANCY & HEALTH CONDITIONS Please inform us in advance of your service if you are pregnant, have allergies or any serious medical conditions (such as circulatory problems, heart or kidney disease), or if you are undergoing chemotherapy. We will do our best to accommodate you; however, certain services or a spa visit may not be suitable for some health conditions.
SPA SERVICES & PREGNANCY We are able to make accommodations to some Spa Services during pregnancy, but in order for you to enjoy the service, it's important for you to be feeling well enough to do so. If you are experiencing nausea, wait until after any symptoms relating to nausea are gone to book an appointment. Please note that our Spa Services are performed on a spa bed, and require you to lay on your back, fully reclined during the treatment. Depending on the stage of your pregnancy, it may not be comfortable to do so. In that case, it can be best to wait to book in for a Spa Service until you'll find it relaxing to be fully reclined for the duration of the service time.
