Tea Lemonade
Iced tea + lemonade are a match made in heaven! When combined, they yield fantastic, thirst quenching results. Lemonade acts as a natural sweetener for the tea, while the tea benefits from the tart, refreshing burst of citrus flavour.
Studies indicate that adding a squeeze of lemon or lime to green & black tea may improve absorption of antioxidants — tea lemonade not only tastes great, it’s also good for you!
Enjoy the bright weather & get your vitamins with delicious, freshly brewed iced teas & tea lemonades.
HOW TO MAKE TEA LEMONADE
makes 1 litre
2 tbsp. Silk Road loose tea (see below for our recommendations)
2 cups hot water
2 cups chilled lemonade ~ for a sugar-free optional, use freshly squeezed lemon juice
Follow the brewing instructions on the tea tin label. When the tea has finished steeping, strain it & refrigerate until cold. Combine chilled tea with chilled lemonade or fresh squeezed lemon juice, if you prefer a sugar-free option. Optional, garnish with fresh mint, thyme or lemon zest.
Do not mix tea with lemonade until the tea is well chilled. Since they are home-made they are preservative-free, all natural, low in calories & high in antioxidants so you can enjoy anytime.
